Scourge coffee is a small-batch coffee company dedicated to fantasy pop-culture fans who love coffee.
The aim was to do this with a narrative-driven line of products that all tell a piece of a greater fictional story about where the coffee itself comes from.
Step one was designing a logo that immediately establishes the company’s fantasy pop culture heart and soul.
The mark itself included shapes, colors and symbols that would be relevant to the overall story and be carried throughout the product line packaging.
Each product in the company’s line would establish characters, events and locations that build the fictional world of Scourge Coffee.
An emphasis was placed on illustration for the coffee bags, which take inspiration from classic action figures, card games and how they use their packaging to world-build.
The result was a line of products with rich visual and narrative appeal alongside their core quality.
